Description About StreamArmor

StreamArmor is the sophisticated tool for discovering hidden alternate data streams
(ADS) as well as clean them completely from the system. It's advanced auto analysis coupled
with online threat verification mechanism makes it the best tool available in the market for
eradicating the evil streams.
It comes with fast multi threaded ADS scanner which can recursively scan over entire system
and quickly uncover all hidden streams. All such discovered streams are represented using
specific color patten based on threat level which makes it easy for human eye to distinguish
between suspicious and normal streams.

It has built-in advanced file type detection mechanism which examines the content of file to
accurately detect the file type of stream. This makes it great tool in forensic analysis in
uncovering hidden documents/images/audio/video/database/archive files within the alternate
data streams.

New version presents cool GUI interface with new icon and banner, automatic version detector
and installer to support local installation & uninstallation.

What is Alternate Data Stream (ADS) ?
Alternate Data Stream (ADS) is the lesser known feature of Windows NTFS file system which
provides the ability to put data into existing files and folders without affecting their
functionality and size. Any such stream associated with file/folder is not visible when viewed
through conventional utilities such as Windows Explorer or DIR command or any other file browser
tools. It is used legitimately by Windows and other applications to store additional
information (for example summary information) for the file. Even 'Internet Explorer' adds the
stream named 'Zone.Identifier' to every file downloaded from the internet.

Due to this hidden nature of ADS, hackers have been exploiting this method to secretly store
their Rootkit components on the compromised system without being detected. For example, the
infamous Rootkit named 'Mailbot.AZ' aka 'Backdoor.Rustock.A' used to hide its driver file
into system32 folder (C:\Windows\system32) as a stream '18467'.

In short, ADS provides easy way to store the malicious content covertly as well as execute
it directly without making even a bit of noise. Only sophisticated tools such as StreamArmor
has the ability to discover and destroy these hidden malicious streams.

for human eye to distinguish between suspicious streams from normal ones.

Parallel analysis of discovered streams during the scanning process, allows user to start
with analysis immediately without waiting for entire scanning operation to be completed.

View the entire content of selected stream using the configured third party application.
In fact user can configure different applications for normal & executable stream file.

Save the selected stream file content to a disk, or USB drive or DVD for further analysis.

Delete the selected alternate data stream from its base file or folder.

Execute/Run the selected executable stream file for analyzing its malicious nature in
virtual environments such as VMWare.

Dynamic performance tuning mechanism by adjusting the ADS scan thread count [only for
advanced users].

Sort feature to arrange the scanned streams based on its name/threat level/content type/size.

Export the entire list of discovered streams to a disk file in HTML format for offline
analysis.



Installing StreamArmor

Though StreamArmor is a Portable tool, it comes with Installer so that you can install it
locally on your system for regular usage. This installer has intuitive wizard (as shown in
the screenshot below) which guides you through series of steps in completion of installation.
At any point of time you can use Uninstaller to remove the software from the system.

Pelajar Indonesia Borong Gelar Juara International Conference of Young Scientists

Jakarta Putera-puteri pelajar Indonesia memborong 11 penghargaan berupa 1 medali emas, 2 medali perak, 4 medali perunggu dan 4 penghargaan khusus dalam the 19th International Conference of Young Scientists (ICYS) di Nijmegen, Belanda (16-21/4/2012). 

ICYS ke-19 ini diikuti oleh 22 negara dari kawasan Asia, Eropa, Timur Tengah dan Amerika Latin antara lain Belarusia, Brazil, Cina Kroasia, Ceko, Georgia, Jerman, Hongaria Indonesia, Iran, Korea Selatan, Lithuania, Malaysia, Belanda, Polandia, Rumania, Rusia, Serbia, Taiwan, Thailand, Turki, dan Ukraina. 

Tim Indonesia terdiri dari 12 siswa SMP dan SMA dibimbing oleh tim dari Surya Institute, yaitu Direktur Eksekutif Ir. Srisetiowati Seiful, Monika Raharti, Msi, Syailendra Agung Satria Parulian Harahap dan Janto Vincent Sulung Budi. 

Medali emas diraih untuk bidang Biologi karya Vinsen (SMA Cita Hati, Surabaya). Medali perak diperoleh untuk bidang Ekologi karya Veronica Theresia (SMA Stella Duce 1, Yogyakarta) dan bidang Fisika Terapan karya Shanon Canamara (SMA Santa Laurensia, Tangerang). 

Medali perunggu untuk bidang Biologi karya Mike Junet Christin Toam (SMA Negeri 3, Jayapura), Fialdy Yoshua (SMP Chandra Kusuma, Medan), Adis Pranaya Yakin (SMA Stella Duce 1, Yogyakarta) dan Gde Paksi Raganata (SMA Santa Maria 1, Bandung). 

Sedangkan penghargaan khusus masing-masing untuk bidang Matematika karya I Made Gita Narendar Kumara (SMA Bali Mandara, Bali), bidang sains komputer karya Kemal Yahya Ferdianto (SMA 6, Yogyakarta), Ganziah Iqbal Fernnda (SMP Al Masum, Bandung) dan Burhanuddien Ibrahim Rahmani (Madrasah Aliyah Muallimin, Muhammadiyah, Yogyakarta). 

Duta Besar RI untuk Kerajaan Belanda Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi kepada detikcom menyampaikan rasa bangganya atas prestasi putera-puteri pelajar Indonesia dalam kompetisi internasional presentasi karya ilmiah ini. 

"Kita patut bangga, karena mereka dari sisi usia masih sangat belia, tapi rasa ingin tahunya luarbiasa. Termasuk prestasi pelajar dari daerah Papua dengan hasil risetnya mengenai ulat sagu sebagai sumber protein," ujar Dubes kepada detikcom, Minggu (22/4/2012). 

Menurut Dubes, riset ulat sagu sebagai sumber protein itu sangat menjanjikan untuk dikembangkan dan dapat ikut mempercepat ketercukupan kebutuhan protein di daerah di mana sumber protein hewani susah didapat, yang muaranya akan menunjang terbentuknya putera-puteri yang cerdas dan tangguh. 

Lanjut Dubes, prestasi para pelajar di kancah kompetisi internasional tersebut ikut mengharumkan nama Indonesia. Kemajuan Indonesia diakui dunia internasional antara lain dari prestasi di setiap kompetisi internasional seperti ICYS, Olimpiade Matematika dan sejenisnya dimana Indonesia selalu mendapat tempat. 

"Kita berharap agar dari kemampuan anggaran 20% dari APBN sebagian dapat disisihkan untuk mendorong riset para pelajar menuju prestasi gemilang," demikian Dubes, yang menemui langsung para pelajar untuk memberi perhatian dan dukungan. 

Dubes secara khusus diundang dalam upacara penutupan dan penyerahan penghargaan di Arnhem untuk mewakili Indonesia, yang akan menjadi tuan rumah ICYS ke-20 tahun 2013. Dubes mengajak agar para peserta dapat hadir dalam ICYS ke-20 yang akan diselenggarakan di Lombok. 

Indonesia untuk pertama kali mengikuti lomba presentasi karya ilmiah ICYS pada ICYS ke-12 di Katowice, Polandia, dengan membawa 3 karya penelitian dalam bidang Fisika dan berhasil meraih sebuah medali perunggu dan sebuah Penghargaan Khusus. 

Prestasi tim Indonesia terus meningkat dalam rentang tahun 2008-2009, sehingga pada tahun 2010 Indonesia untuk pertama kali menjadi tuan rumah ICYS ke-17 di Bali

Outline your tasks
Use the MyLife Organized Outliner to organize your goals, projects, and tasks into a tree.First, write down the tasks that you would like to accomplish. Then, if the tasks are large, simply break them down into their component elements (subtasks). If these components still seem large, continue to break them down a until you have a list of reasonably sized subtasks.

Ask yourself, "What are the most important tasks?"
For each task, you can specify its importance in relation to its parent task or project in the outline. To increase the importance of a task to its parent task, drag the Importance for parent slider to the right.Note: when you set the priority of a task in most other To-Do programs, you actually set its absolute priority in comparison to all other tasks in the list. In MLO, however, you should only consider how important it is to complete the task relative to completing its parent project. If you change the importance of a project with subtasks, the placement of all its subtasks in the To-Do list will be changed simultaneously, without your having to change the importance sliders for those subtasks individually.

Assign appropriate contexts for the tasks
Many tasks in your list can be completed only in certain contexts (places or situations). For example, you can complete the task "Buy compact disc" only when you are in a music store. Thus, you will want to create a new context named "Music store", and assign this context to the task. Later on, you can filter the To-Do list by assigned locations.Since a context can include other contexts, it is easy to construct a realistic model of your everyday places or situations. This model will help you stay focused on tasks that require your immediate attention.

Automatically generate the ordered To-Do list
After you have entered all your goals, projects, and tasks into the Outline, MyLife Organized can select only those tasks which require immediate attention and place them to the To-Do List. This list is also called the list of Next Actions.The scheduled tasks appear in the list only at the most suitable time. You can filter the To-Do list by setting the appropriate context. Each time you complete a task the To-Do list is regenerated to keep it updated and right ordered.The To-Do list is sorted in priority order so that you can stay focused on what is really important to you, separate importance from urgency, and overcome procrastination.
